NEIGHBOURHOOD POOCH FAQS

NEIGHBOURHOOD POOCH FAQS

Q. Why Choose Neighbourhood Pooch?

A. We are local dog lovers dedicated to walking, playing and caring for your dog. We have six dogs in our family and know from experience how important it is that they get adequate exercise and time with other dogs to lead happy, healthy lives.

Q. Do you walk in the rain?

A. Yes, we walk rain or shine. During extreme weather, we stay and play with your dog at home.

Q. How do you pick up my dog?

A. Most puppy parents are happy to supply us with a set of spare keys to their houses; we simply pick up your pooch from an agreed location 15 minutes before their booking and drop them off after their walk.

Q. How many dogs do you walk at one time?

A. We walk a maximum of six dogs at one time; socialisation is the key to happy, healthy pooches. We place dogs together in balanced play groups taking age, breed and personality into account. We work with you to meet you and your dog’s needs.

Q. How does my dog start walking with you?

A. Madie, Matt or Hazel will meet you and your pooch for a face to face consultation to understand your dog’s needs. After meeting your BFF we will recommend a walking group to place them in and organise with you when and where you want us to pick up your pooch.

Q. Where do you walk my dog?

A. It depends on your dog’s needs! If your pooch prefers to stay closer to home we will take them to the local park and stay and play a while – book your pooch in our 45 minutes walking sessions.

If your pup is happy in the car we love to go to Elis Brook Valley or South Freo dog beach; both locations are dog friendly and well away from any main roads – book your pooch into our 2 hour ‘day trip’.

Q. How will I know you have walked my dog?

A. We will text you pictures of your dog enjoying their daily play! You can also keep up to date on their fun on our instagram page, follow us at Neighbourhood Pooch.

Q. What happens in an emergency?

A. In the unlikely occurrence of an emergency we will notify you immediately and take your dog to the nearest vet. At our initial meeting we will collect your emergency contact details, the details of your vet and discuss with you how you would like an emergency to be handled.

Q. Do you walk my dog off the lead?

A. We like to let your dog walk off the lead in safe designated areas, but it is totally up to you. If you prefer we can walk your dog on a long lead so he or she can still get heaps of exercise! We won’t walk your dog off the lead without your written consent. Download our ‘Off the Lead’ consent form HERE

Q. Can you check in on my puppy or elderly dog?

A. Yes! We are happy checking in on them, feeding them or administering medication. We will also stay and play for a while.

Q. Does my dog need to be microchipped and registered with the local council?

A. Yes, absolutely. We will only walk dogs who are microchipped and licensed.

Q. Who will walk my dog?

A. Madie, Matt and Hazel are available on different days during the week. You can choose who you would like to walk your dog through our online booking system or when you call! We recommend having the same walker work with your dog on a regular basis.

Q. What transportation do you have?

A. If driving we transport your dog to and from the walk location in a fully licensed and insured car. We use approved doggy seatbelts to keep your pooch safe whilst in transit.

Q. What do you take with you on the walks?

A. We take lots of fresh water, treats to reward your dog’s good behaviour and a variety of balls and toys.

Q. How do I pay?

A. We will organise the most convenient payment method for the services you require at our initial consultation.
